Custom SS316 CNC Micro Roll
Manufacturing process of Custom SS316 CNC Micro Roll
Problems solved for customer: the customer expected that these micro rolls have a uniform cut on the edges as they will be fitted in a plastic connector, he used to have a local supplier who failed to produce the micro rolls that meet his requirements, finally our factory’s several thousands pieces samples solved the problem, the customer praised our quality and accuracy are excellent.
Application of CNC machining stainless steel parts
- Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, formability, compatibility, and toughness in a wide temperature range, stainless steel is widely used in heavy industry, light industry, daily necessities industry, and architectural decoration industries.
- The combination of mechanical strength and high ductility of chromium-containing stainless steel makes it easy to process and manufacture parts, and can be used in the construction field.
- In CNC machining, stainless steel occupies a large market.
- Dongguan KENENG can manufacture lathe parts of various stainless steel alloys.
About stainless steel materials commonly used in CNC machining
Nitronic 60 is an excellent general purpose grade with excellent wear and rust resistance. It has almost twice the yield toughness of SS 304 and SS 316 and has excellent oxidation resistance. Common applications include bolts, stems, seats, pins, bushings, rings, bearings and shafts.
The 300 series (303, 304L, 316L, 416, 440C, etc.) are austenitic stainless steels (based on their crystal structure) and are the most widely produced grades in the world. Austenitic stainless steel grades are known for their high resistance to deterioration as well as high durability over a wide temperature range. They are not heat treatable except for cold working, and are usually nonmagnetic.
The 400 series stainless steels are from the martensitic family and are not as common as the austenitic stainless steels. Because of its higher carbon content, martensitic steel is tough and strong, but is more prone to rust in certain environments. They can be heat treated to significantly increase their hardness and magnetic properties.
17-4PH stainless steel is a high-strength, extremely corrosion-resistant product that retains its ductility to approximately 1100°F. PH in its name stands for Rain Hardening, a cure used to increase yield stamina. It is magnetic and can also be heat treated, with a hardness of about Rockwell C50.
Other stainless steel materials
SS201: Polished without bubbles and pinholes, it is mainly used to produce high-quality materials for various watch cases and strap bottom covers.
SS301: Low in chromium and nickel, increases tensile strength and hardness during cold working. Non-magnetic, but magnetic after cold working.
SS304: Good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties. Good hot workability, such as stamping and bending, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon, non-magnetic.
316 Stainless Steel: Similar properties to 304, with higher corrosion and chemical resistance
