The wedge anchor bolts are a type of expansion bolts, also known as gecko expansion bolts or expansion anchor bolts.
Structure and Working Principle
A wedge anchor bolt usually consists of a bolt, a nut, a washer and an outer sleeve. One end of the bolt is connected to the object to be installed, and the other end is connected to the nut. The outer sleeve is a hollow metal tube, which is sleeved on one side of the bolt. There are some grooves or cuts on the outer sleeve. During installation, the bolt is inserted into a pre-drilled hole, and then the nut is tightened. When the nut is tightened, the bolt exerts an outward force, causing the outer sleeve to expand, and its grooves or cuts are pressed into the hole, thus creating a stable connection. The nut on the bolt can be used to adjust the tightness of the connection.
